Certificate in A+
Program
A+ Certification is a CompTIA-sponsored testing program that certifies the competency of entry-level computer service technicians. The test covers a broad range of hardware and software technologies, but is not bound to any vendor-specific products. A+ Certification is backed by major computer hardware and software vendors, distributors, resellers, and technical publications.
The Certificate in A+ is an opportunity to prepare for intermediate roles in the installation, configuration and administration of computer hardware, software and networks. The Certificate in A+ consists of one required course totaling 40 hours of lecture and hands-on instruction. The certificate graduate will receive 4.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), a nationally recognized unit used for professional development.
Program Objective
Students completing this class will have gained knowledge in:
- Network installation, configuration and upgrades
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting networks
- Preventative maintenance
- Motherboard, processors and memory
- Fundamentals of operating systems
- Installing, configuring and upgrading operating systems
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems
Eligibility
This program is designed for individuals who have some basic computer experience and wish to prepare for intermediate roles in the installation, configuration and administration of computer hardware, software and networks. Related experience might include familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and the Internet.
