ONLINE - The Lean Enterprise II: Advanced Tools Certificate embodies a philosophy and guiding principles that are the foundation of continuously improving organizations. The ideal Lean system will increase value for the customer while operating at maximum effectiveness and minimal cost. Achievement of Lean involves the integration of customer-focused business strategies, fundamental management techniques, continuous improvement efforts, and employee involvement using Lean concepts including Kanban and Kaizen. You will actually perform a mini-Kaizen which can be applied to your work environment. This program provides Lean Enterprise training that will get you up to speed.

Lean means no waste. In enterprise operations, Lean systems apply the logic of continuous improvement using cross-functional teams, groups and individual employees empowered with information. The goal is to identify, analyze, and eliminate non-value activities in administrative processes.

The Lean Enterprise: Advanced Tools Certificate consists of three required courses totaling 33 hours of online learning and can be completed in a single semester. 3.3 Continuing Education Units will be awarded to the certificate graduate.

Program Objective
Graduates of the certificate program will be able to:
- Illustrate the use of Lean principles in marketing, product design, and business systems
- Identify steps necessary to implement demand-based process flow
- Introduce and explain Lean principles, tools, and strategies
- Calculate the optimal size of a Kanban
- Demonstrate ways to implement Lean principles throughout the supply chain
- Assist in the implementation of Lean techniques
- Calculate Takt time and perform simple standard work calculations
- Establish setup reductions
- Create simple mistake-proofing tools
