Certificate in Service-Oriented Architecture: Implementation
Program
Get the SOA oriented implementation training you need now.
Many technological tools have been adopted as the "penicillin" to improve business processes and performance. Yet, many well-intended exercises are eventually abandoned when disjointed technologies lead to silos of information.
There is a need for an enterprise infrastructure that fully integrates technology and business processes, allowing business agility and a free flow of information between the various units, locations, functions, and entities.
Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is an approach that offers great potential. SOA is a collection of best practices for creating organizational infrastructure that enables greater agility in the constantly evolving world of business. SOA is not a one-dimensional IT product. It is a sophisticated and multi-faceted process that helps eliminate barriers that occur when technology and business processes are not integrated.
This program consists of two certificates to provide training that will assist organizations in creation and implementation of Service-Oriented Architecture:
- Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA): Agile Enterprise
- Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA): Implementation
The Certificate in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA): Implementation provides information technology professionals with an opportunity for SOA oriented implementation training that will get them up to speed. You will have an opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of the skills necessary to implement SOA. You will learn how to map out business processes, build linkages among the various elements of service-oriented systems and create service packages aimed at simplifying and facilitating business processes.
The Certificate in Service-Oriented Architecture: Implementation consists of seven courses totaling 66 hours of lecture and hands-on experience. The certificate graduate will receive 6.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), a nationally recognized unit used for professional development.
Required Classes
- Transformative Thinking: SOA Principles
- Elements of Service-Oriented Systems
- Business Architecture & SOA Patterns
- Governance: Key to SOA Success
- Building a Service-Oriented Infrastructure
- Standards of Integration

The Certificate in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA): Agile Enterprise will help both business and IT professionals gain a better understanding of SOA concepts, infrastructure and management. The program focuses on developing the skills needed to influence knowledgeable enterprise-wide decisions to support the adoption of SOA.
Challenges to be addressed collaboratively by business and technological professionals include: the initial business process modeling, business architectural design, and building a governance structure that ensures continuity.
